My Story
I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE A WRITER…
I did not think I was going to a be coach, a lawyer, an entrepreneur, a corporate executive or a founder of a female-focused accessories company. I loved writing so I thought I would be a writer. I loved the positive feedback, getting published, giving my opinions, and creating stories. But I struggled with procrastination, low self-esteem and lack of focus among other issues that got in the way of moving towards the thing I wanted to be and thought I should be.
I went to law school instead, convinced by my parents that at least they seemed clear about what I should do for a living. It wasn’t bad advice, it just wasn’t the path that I felt connected to and over time I felt lost and empty. The money I made didn’t fill the void and it made it harder to walk away and find the thing that lit me up from the inside, that elusive “thing” we’re all looking for that we think will make everything better.
I went from representing The Beatles, the Estate of Jimi Hendrix, other artists, record companies, movie companies and worked on some amazing projects like The Concert For New York after 9/11 when I was at AOL and Live Earth: The Concert For a Climate in Crisis, and opportunities from the outside that seemed glamorous and exciting but left me feeling that I was living someone else’s life. So I kept pivoting, looking for signs that I was getting closer and not further from fulfilling my purpose – whatever that was.
As it turned out, my purpose and my passion was helping people. I started to be more of a student and less tied to one of my many identities. I embraced meditation, got a lot of feedback about my ego, and kept going through the fire to find the gold. I became of service to my community and to anyone who came into my life. I volunteer as a grief counselor, I lead a group every week for family members of those who suffers from addiction and mental health conditions, and I coach people who need my support in their business, in their relationships, in their challenges to find happiness and transcend their childhood wounds and past regrets to become the person in the world they were meant to be.
I look forward to hearing your story and the work we can do together.
Sincerely,
